Canon Camera & Garmin Sat Nav no longer recognised

  pcat19 18:21 05 Aug 2010

Both used to work perferctly well when connected to any of the 3 USB ports on my laptop, now all I get is a message saying USB Device Not Recognised! I've tried diagnose and repair through Windows Help and Support which hasn't worked. I have an Acer Aspire 6930G, Vista. Any ideas, all help greatly appreciated.

Have you done a re-start?

conflicts are the mostly cause especially for devices that are connected and disconnected regularly i.e. pen drives, external drives, mp3 devices and phones.

Remove all USB devices

Download and run

Uninstall ALL devices that are shown as not connected.

Reboot the machine.

Plug in your USB device and windows should then find new hardware and reinstall the drivers for the device.
