Canon BJC-4550 Printer

Less than a year ago the above printer gave five beeps and refused to work.
Canon helpdesk said "The 5 beeps indicate that the waste ink tank is full. If the waste ink tank is full, your Canon BJC-4550 will need servicing."
This cost me £45.83 + £8.74 carriage.

Now, after trying to "flush" out an old cartridge and having little used it since the service, I am getting the same symptoms.
I recently read on this forum an instruction to reset and clean another make of printer.

Does anyone know how to reset a Canon BJC-4550.

Waste Error Reset seems to be the procedure, but no joy - so far. I will try reboot and possibly repeat.

Look at click here
there have been a number of threads to clear the waste tank error code. It is possible to take the printer apart and wash out the 2 pads (mine had) and then reassemble it. It is JUST a DIY job. What have you got to lose, otherwise £73 is the cost of a new printer anyway. David
