Cannot unistall IE 7

  jbam 11:21 19 Aug 2008

I am trying to uninstall IE as it is stopping my outlook 2007 from working properly.

I am using IE to browse the web, but it does not show up in the programs and features in vista.

When I look for the program in the program files it is there.

Can any one help?

I don't think you can, it's an integral part of Vista as far as I'm aware.
It shouldn't cause any problems though. I run IE7 and Office 2007 without conflict. What exactly is happening, and what makes you think IE is the culprit?

Outlook 2007 will not start up. It just hangs.

You used to be able to go to tools.Internet Options.Advanced. And press reset. But since downloading SP3 it is a bit iffy.Well with me it was.So I would wait and see if anyone else has had problems with it.

Do a search for IE.inf If you find it double click it to see if it will rerun the program

This is Vista, so SP3 is irrelvant. IE7 installs by default.
But I still don't see why IE7 has been blamed because Outlook won't launch. Try inserting the Office installation disc and when the options appear choose to repair. That often works.
