Cannot uninstall Firefox

I need to uninstall Firefox because of Adobe flash plugin crashes (all plugins are up to date)....
I tried the normal control panel> add remove programes but it does not work,it get as far as the window where it says continue, then nothing happens. I did a search and got a site where it shows how to uninstall Firefox manually, but I get the same problem with that also.

I run win Vista premium

Thanks I did that and it did uninstall Firefox, I now find I have a problem when trying to click on a link from an email, I get the name of the website Im trying to go to via the email and a message below that saying "The application was not found"
Also when I open Internet explorer I get a window asking me to install Adobe flash player which I do but it keeps coming back asking me to install Adobe flash player.
Do you think this is related to me uninstalling Firefox?

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools - Internet Options - Programs tab. Make sure Internet Explorer is set as default browser. Click Apply and OK.
