cannot right click on start menu items.

Hello, today i switched on my pc and went to try and create a shortcut on a program in programs > start menu and it wouldnt right click. Does anyone know why? None of the programs will right click and reveal a menu, although it works fine on the desktop. Help much appreciated.

If you mean you can't right-click on the Menu items just above Start, it's just the way Windows is built - can't be done. However, if you mean you can't right-click on any items AFTER Start -> Programs -> and further items in the menu then there is a problem. Please clarify either way.

Usually Run, Help, Find, Documents, Favorites, Settings, Programs cannot be right-clicked. You can add items above Start in the menu which you CAN right-click. It just depends which ones you are trying to right-click.

enable dragging and dropping

if you have xp right click the taskbar/properties/startmenu/customize/advanced

if enable dragging and dropping isn't ticked...tick it and click ok
