cannot network PC ethernet and w'less laptop

  chgreenwich 18:37 24 Nov 2009

My PC running on XP accesses the internet via an ethernet cable to a wireless router
My laptop access the internet via wireless through the same router
The laptop pings the PC and gets a response
The PC pings the laptop but times out
The PC has Norton 360 firewall with the IP address of the laptop permitted in both directions under the Traffic tab

What am I doing wrong ?

If it is the Laptop which you cannot ping, that would suggest that it is the *LAPTOP'S* firewall which needs to be configured to allow access to the PC.

Or, you should make sure the Laptop allows network connections from the PC if it's not the firewall. Turn the firewall off for on both for a while and try again.
