Cannot install USB2 card properly on 98SE

I have fitted a USB2 card to my 1G Pentium 3 running 98SE and ran the driver installation program that came with it.
It seems to work OK with my SanDisk memory stick but not with my Olympus camera. When checking in Device Manage it reports “ALiUSB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller” and the “USB 2.0 Root Hub Device” driver are both working correctly.
My problem is that when I start my computer I get the “Windows has detected new hardware” screen and I have to cancel it three times to boot up. If I try to install by clicking next or using “add new hardware” the install program requests that the original 98SE CD is inserted but is then not able to find any of the drivers etc. that it requires. Not surprising, as they don’t appear to be on there. Is there a generic driver I can use or any other suggestions?
Thanks for any help.
P.S. Sorry butI won't be able to read any replies for a couple of days.

Do you have the "Unofficial" Windows 98SE Service Pack installed?

Don't worry about the "unofficial" tag - it was a labour of love by the author. See:
