Cannot Fully Delete Browsing History!

  bigbournie 14:17 17 Jul 2010

Hi there,

I cannot fully delete my browsing history, when i delete temp file, history, cookies, passwords etc via tools and internet options it always leaves one site in my history!

When i click on the drop down arrow next to the address bar it has google as its my home page but also has another 5 pages from 1 website before it then gets to my saved favourites.

Even if i click the red cross/delete they go but as soon as i click this drop down bar again they are back?!

I have downloaded Piriform CCleaner and used this but still not deleted them!

Works laptop and lets say work bosses wouldnt approve of the the website! Please help!!!!!

If it's IE 7, surely when you close the browser down then reopen it, that drop down list will be empty - 'tis on mine, anyway?

In IE check that in tools, internet options, general tab, delete tab in browsing history, that the box for preserve favourite website data is unticked.

This sounds like a trojan type cookie!!
Check msconfig for any unusual startup entries!!

Sometimes a reboot can fix these oddities.
