Cannot access network on BT Wireless Network 1250

Having just fitted a new hard drive on my Evesham and re-installed WinME (see earlier thread: Re-installing WinME on new hard drive), although I can go online and access the internet, the PC cannot access my home network (BT wireless 1250). Our other computers are (USB) wireles, but this one is via a USB lead into the BT modem/router.
When I go to My Network Places > Home Networking Wizard > once I click OK having filled in the details on the third page which entails stating Computer and workgroup names, the dreaded blue screen appears with the error message:
File Name: VSERVER(01) + 00004D7D Error: OE 0028 : C169F6FD.

Thank you very much for your suggestion STREETWORK. The fix entailed downloading and applying an update from Microsoft.
