Cannot access Adobe Premiere Help.

I cannot access Adobe Premiere Help OR MyDVD tutorials. I get a similar error message in both events - 'Adobe Reader could not open index.htm - either not supported file type, or emailed and not correctly encoded.' (for Adobe Premiere the file name was 'help.htm')
I am running Windows XP Home edition. Updating Adobe reader from 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 has made no difference.

I would like to edit my old video tapes and put them on DVD using one of the above progs. Can anybody help?

Just thought of an option- try looking in your local library. I was considering installing Elements and ordered 3 books from the library to see whether it was better than Studio v9 which I currently use - Its not bad. David

Thanks David but I don't think the answer addresses the problem. If anyone knows what causes the common error message I'd be pleased to know what the cause of the problem is so I can use MyDVD and Adobe Premiere.
