Legally No

No, because you would be unable to activate the second copy with Microsoft. It would stop working after 30 days.

if you have lots of PC's and want XP on them buy lots of copies of XP.

There is the option to buy a 'volume licence' though i have no idea of the cost.

Many software products also offer the option to buy a multi user licence.

Our system where i work has a licence agreement that allows up to 25 users at any one time. We have over 25 PC's, but only 25 can run the prog at any one time.

Or you could phone a shop and ask "can you do me a deal, i want 'X' copies' how much discound for bulk buying will you give?"

Other than that, see mgmcc's answer.

Basically, no.

i thought only xp home required "activated" and not xp pro???

  jonnytub 20:12 23 Aug 2004

not that i condone that kinda practice.

<< i thought only xp home required "activated" and not xp pro???>>

The "CORPORATE" version of XP Pro does not require activation. The normal retail version of Pro (full or upgrade) requires activation in the same way as Home.
