Can video be converted to mp3?

Can video been recorded from a digital camera or any video files be coverted to mp3 as I have a DVD player which plays mp3 files. Just wondering.

No mp3 is a sound compression format that was/is part of the mpeg format for recording video.

I may be worng on this though and am open to ammendment.

It may well be worth mentioning that if your DVD will play mp3 then it should be able to play CDR/VCD or higher.

Convert your video to mpeg1 or 2 and burn as VCD/SVCD or DVD to CDR.

Once I change a movie to Mpeg, what is the best way to save this as a vcd, do I need a programme such as VCDEASY or the likes.

You can use one of the CD burning programmes. I am not familiar with VCDEASY. I use NERO, but suspect most will be very similar.

If you use Nero it should take your AVI or mpeg1 file and convert it correctly to VCD.
You use the wizard for VCD which will write the correct support files to the CD. Be aware that it is time consuming.

Check here to ensure that your DVD standalone is compatible with CDRs.
