can they read word docs &emails if dont have font

i have just send some emails and a word document typed using a truetype font that i have just downloaded.

if the recipient doesnt have that font on their computor, how will it display?

oh dear!!! thanks for the information sea urchin:), i guess i will need to stick to common fornts and change my word docs to pdf before emailing them

You could try "Embed TrueType fonts" in Word. This will send the necessary fonts along with the document so that your recipient will have all the necessary fonts.

To embed the fonts go to the Tools Menu, Options, Save Tab and tick the "Embed TrueType fonts" option.

PDFs is the way to go - it won't matter what font you use then. Nor does it matter how the recipient has their Word set up.

Plus it doesn't even require the recipient to have Word, either. It's bad form to use proprietary formats to distribute information, when there are better agreed standards to use.
