That's it really,my disc is 98se OEM.Will it be accepted by MS for upgrade version? (before I buy)

I think it cannot not be done, as it is an OEM disk. To qulaify you need a retail disk.

I wait to be corrected...

I haven't seen anything on the OEM subject about verification, thought I'd better check.
Regards Les.

OEM 98se is definitely OK! you will need the actual disk though, because you have to insert it into your CD drive when requested.

I up-graded my O/S to win. XP Pro. from an OEM version of win.98se. Regards. j.

The Spires Thanks...had a read.First it said NO.Then..you can get over it,by installing from within a qualified install, rather than the disc?? Does that mean from w98?If so you can't have a clean install!

Djohn Thanks also...I have the disc. Could you choose the type of install with no trouble?

It seems both rkg...AND...Powerless were right.
