Can I run a SATA hard drive with Win 98

I am running Win 98 and plan to upgrade my mobo and move to SATA for storage. Can I run SATA with Win 98. Some manufacturers websites suggest you can, some seem to suggest you can't.

I am going to get a 40 GB drive to avoid the Win 98 limit, but if a got a bigger drive, could I avoid the Win 98 limit by partitioning it into 2 or more drives each under 40 GB.

Yes win98 will be able to "see" the sata drive....

I don't think that "partitioning" it would make a difference, but some people have said it has worked for them (but they were on Win98 SE)

Win 98 SE appears to work fine with 80Gb Sata Drives
