Can I recover those video clips?

A while ago I had one of those senior moments when I needed to revert my system to its factory state. I omitted to back up my pics and video files. Most have ben successfully recovered and, where necessary repaired.

Here is the situation with some of the rest

I have some files that in Digital Video Reair v2.2.3 are described as mjpg; 640x480;30fps; 1 audio stream. In the files' properties the file type is"VLC media file (.avi) (.avi)".

I have tried repair with Digital Video Repair and also to convert to avi format with MJPG Procesor, both efforts being unsuccessfully.

Has anyone suggestions, please how I might succeed in making the files playable?

You could try the repair feature in VLC. I suggest you copy the video file first and then try to repair the copy.

*Open your video file with VLC. There's a chance it will just start playing; VLC can sometimes play video files other applications claim are damaged. If it doesn't, you will see a pop-up window informing you the file is damaged. Click the "Repair" button. This process could take several minutes or more.*
