Can I put a 3.06Mhz Processor in my "533" bus PC, which is a Hewlett packard It is a Pentium 2.6 (5X 533)and I wondered if i could just pop in (at a later date) a Pentium 3GIG - or 3.06 (mine is Intel Pentium 4A 2666 (says "AIDA")

I heard something about having to do some stepping or something for it to work? - or is that just for HT (hyper threading)?. Also, I hear that Pentium 4's are going to go even higher on the 533 bus - like the 800 bus ones - is that true, and would these work in my system?

MOBO: Intel Brookdale-G i845G. My Ram is "just" PC 2100 DDR SDRAM though, will that make a difference?

Depends on whether you m/b can take a 3.06. Why not check the HP website and get info about your m/b first. 800 FSB are already in use for quite sometime. EG. I have a 2.8 800FSB with HT.
