Hi,
My grandad as just got a HD Ready LCD TV. Now I am just wondering. Can i download some HD clips and then burn them to a normal DVD R/RW and then be able to play them in HD on his telly?
And also does the television have to be HD Ready in which to play, or can you play HD on a dvd on an type of telly

Thanks
Ben

You can/could play the HD recordings on any TV, but you would need an HD set and appropriate lead to see them in high definition.

IF you can get the image at 720 or 1080 into a computer it can be
captured. The problem is getting it there at that resolution. When
using the highest resolution through HDMI the receiver and TV talk to
each other so the HD receiver knows it has an HD capable TV set
attached. It's the same as my computer knowing the make, model, and
resolution of the monitor hooked to it.

My Twinhan Freeview PCI TV card displays MPEG2 at the standard 720x576 resolution - the detail using a 21in CRY monitor at 1152x864 is remarkable.

The Twinhan is also HD compatible if and when I could receive transmissions.

However, Internetwhizzkid is attempting to connect the DVD player direct to the monitor and this is virtually impossible without the correct signal input conversion.

Forget above posting's last paragraph - it refers to another thread...:-(
