Can I legally transfer a Win98 Upgrade CD???

I have found a Windows 98 Upgrade disk that was used to upgrade our old and very dead PC from Win 95 to 98.

As the PC has been destroyed and we own the Upgrade CD can it be passed to a friend with Windows 95 to update his PC as long as we GIVE and not LEND the CD?

It's ok with me. :-)

Dont think Bill Gates would agree! LOL...

Not sure maybe some one here might know the Law for Microsoft discs such as FE.

But as said, cannot see anything wrong with it.

If the software is installed on one PC only then yes, you can give the CD to your friend.

That's my understanding of it anyway.

Yes, no problem at all, even from Microsoft. j.

Yes! Agree with PC MORON. You can GIVE not LEND as the old pc has been destroyed. Therfore you are apssing on the licence to your friend and you no longer own it.

Thought Mr Gates might have wanted your friend to buy another copy... becuase it is licensed to you.

Anyway, thought it will be ok. Go ahead.
