Hi.

Is it possible when logging on, can i get the desktop to say something.

What it is, i would like to take a extract from a dvd, and everytime the desktop opens the extract plays.

If possible, how would i go about doing it.

Thanks for your time, to all that reply.

Yes.

Save the extract music as a wav file on the computers hard disk. The my music folder is best.

Open control panel > sounds and audio devices > sounds and scroll down to start windows or windows log on. Now use the browse option to look for the file. Save and OK

That should do it.

Getting a clip to play was relatively simple, so I believe.

There was, however, a serious problem.

With all the other programs opening up at the same time, the picture and sound were constantly being broken up.

Apparently the result was pretty much a waste of time

you'll also find that only the first 4 secs will play. I've not found a way to get around this.
