Can I fax from PC using broadband.

I have just changed from dial up with AOL to Broadband. Can I send and receive faxes using my broadband connection? I am using XP Pro but have now got rid of my old fax modem. What do I need to do??

short answer is no.But you can get round it by useing a independent fax program some other good person on here can point you in the right direction.Regards

Can I use Fax/modem at the same time?

Yes with a microfilter
A filter separates the voice, fax and standard dial-up modem data from the Broadband ADSL digital data and is required on each telephony device attached to your nominated Broadband ADSL phone line.

SANTOS7 has hit the nail on the screw. Get your fax modem back! Far better results, but unplug from the line when not in use to thwart dialers.

if you are going to need to recieve faxes install this dialer program click here it will prevent any unauthorised programs from dialling out, works a treat i got it from someone on this forum i cant remember who so thanks to them not me. The site is in german but installs in english.
