Can I delete my system_save, labelled D drive?

I have recently reset my computer which runs Windows 98se. Am I right in thinking that my system save which is labelled D is a partition of my hard drive which is labelled C. I believe that the D drive was created by an old version of my virus checker or norton utilites(can't now be sure but neither are loaded anymore). Is the D drive still valid or can I delete it and free up space on my hard drive. If I can delete it, is there a right and wrong way??
