Can I delete files in download folder

  Blessed 02:06 13 Oct 2005

I created a folder to put downloads in. How do I uninstall the files I have in the folder? Will this free up disk space?

When you download programs they are not installed onto your system. You need to run them which will install the software. This means you can delete them normally. To uninstall the software which has been installed you need to go to the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs.

Note that some programs don't need to be installed and these can be deleted normally also.

And yes, it will free up disk space.

Yes, you can delete the files from within the Folder and it will free up disk space. However, if the file(s) you are going to delete are .exe files then I would back them up to an CD-RW disk or floppy first, in case you need to re-install any of the programs at a later date.
