Can I define soft keys in XP

Is there any way of associating a character string, such as an email address, for example, with a key combination such that it can be used in any application, not just Word, rather like Ctrl V pastes from clipboard, but would be permanently there, unless changed.

This would be most useful in form filling, plain text etc.

Many thanks

Autohotkey would be your best bet, extremely powerful, have a look at click here there is some good documentation on the website.
