I have a laptop (toshiba) with a corrupt hard drive. I want to remove it and try to save the documents, before formatting.

Can I plug it into my main pc as a slave?
I know the sockets are different, so can I buy a converter or are they totally different animals.

Thanks

You can get a convertor to enable you to do this, in fact i have one in a drawer at home!!!, try maplins etc.

last week i got one of these. The ones they stocked are different to the ones they show. The differences are a) the drive can be hot swapped (the FAQ says they can't) and b) it comes with a laptop drive convertor.

The product is a EasyIDE - click here

Although neither show or mention it mine came with the 3.5 to 2.5 convertor...
