if its say, a text file(.txt) and you change it to another extension it wont open.

What file did you rename?

Windows warns you if you try to change the file extrension like .doc, .txt etc. Is this what you are trying to do?

dfghjkl, you can change the name of the file, or add to the name, but not the ext. j.

you can name it whatever you want before the extension .txt .exe etc, just dont change that bit.

example.txt example.exe

You can actually for the hell of it change, for example, a .txt to our old friend .nfo and open it in your notepad, editpad, etc.

No you can't do that as registry entries will be looking for the original name.

Best to stick with the rifinal name. You can always renane what is shown on the desktop or start menu.
