Can CD be used on all OS ?

I am putting all my work onto CD but can a CD be used on all os such as win2000, Vista, etc ?

  Technotiger 21:46 05 Feb 2008

Generally, Yes. Though depending what is on the CD, Vista might not like it.

I have tranferred my files from old floppy types to CD. The files are all written texts using word though some are accounts and business plans.

In buying new os just need to be sure the CD can be read ok for continued work/printouts etc.

For instance - if you have work done with Word 2003, I don't think this is compatible with Vista's Word 2007.

Our last two posts crossed!

Word 2007 will open Word 2003 files OK. The reverse is not true and you need a converter click here

Hmm, you could have problems with Word and Excel etc.

He He - I keep getting 'crossed' - I must type faster.

Thanks Technotiger. I feared as much.

Thanks VoG. Converter sadly not available . I am guilty of working without keeping an eye on advances in os. Mine went into mothballs a while ago. I fear the worst.

But as per VoG™'s link above, there may be work-arounds for most things.
