Cached & Uncached Speed

I have recently run a full test on the P.C Pitstop site and it tells me I have an unusually low performance on Drive C. It says my cached speed is 83.7 MBs per second when the norm for my set up is 170MB/s and my uncached speed is 2.4MB/s and the norm is 4.12MB/s, so my speed is roughly half of what it should be. Can anyone tell me what could be the possible causes of this so I can eliminate them, I have tried disabling my Virus scanner and Zone Alarm,no joy. I am running Windows Me with a CPU of 1200 and 128 Ram and a 40GB hard drive.

PC Pitstop tells me the same thing. However my system runs perfectly happily (and rapidly) so I ignore it.

There have been quite a few threads on here over the last year or so regarding the same issue, I have come to the conclusion the site is best ovoided.

The question you have to think about is: "When will i want/have the need to tranfer data at 170Mb/s"

The answer is probably never!
