cable for CONCEPTRONIC PMCIA modem

I lost (misplaced) the cable for my PMCIA modem. Should any cable I can find in a shop do the trick with no danger to the modem?

If it is a standard telephone type cable, then it should be ok. Some have 4 pins, others two. If your modem has 2 pins then either cable will be ok. If the modem has 4 pins then it will require a 4 pin modem.

Some PCMCIA have special connections for the cable - if that is the case with yours, then you will need to check with the manufacturer site.

As long as the cable fits, the worst that will happen is that it will not work; it's not likely to damage the modem.

I've had a look at the above; you may find it difficult to find a cable I think - it seems to be the flat ones that you need.

THANKS ! It is a flat 4 pin modem. I guess the best thing to do is take the modem with me to a shop and try it in the shop? ...if they'll let me. You got me on he right track.
