Buying a £350 laptop tomorrow

Personally I would go with Intel on laptops as they run cooler. This is quite a good one (Lenovo used to be IBM) click here
It has everything you would need.

Without taking into account the cash back offer, a pal bought in Intel Dual Core version of this laptop about six to eight weeks ago for £399.

It's a nice machine, but it does get quite hot and, from what I hear, the AMDs get even hotter.

Ive got an Acer to great machine would recommend. Had it for over a year now no probs £399 from comet. My sis bought a Toshiba about 6 months ago(i told her get an Acer) £699 she paid and nothing but trouble cracked screen'hinges are loose'realy slow I'm on 2mb and shes 8mb and mines is quicker.

If they still have them, Comet & Staples were selling HP laptops (Windows Vista Premium & 2GB RAM) for £399. Mrs. dogbreath bought one and it's been fine so far.
