Burning Wav file problems.

  sputnick 12:45 19 Jan 2011

I have been trying to copy wav files that have been converted from MP3 onto CD but Windows media player and my burning programs won`t recognise them.
I need them files on CD for a funeral and the equipment they use only plays CD.
I`ve made a number of coasters so far so I would be grateful if anyone can help otherwise I`ll have to buy a cd and copy the tracks from there.

Have you tried using your disc burning software to create an 'Audio' CD to burn the disc? If not, try it. G

Thanks Crossbow 7 I`ve tried that and tried data.
I can only assume that the conversion software does not make files suitable.
Most anoying as everything on dowloads is MP3,
I`ve even found a couple of wav file tracks but they can`t be recognised either.

Do the converted Wav files work OK when you play them in Windows?

You can use the MP3 files to burn an Audio CD directly with WMP - i.e. without converting them into Wav first. Have you tried this? G

Yes the files play fine on the PC but not on standard no MP3 cd playes, shows up as No disc.
Unfortunately the crematorium can only play regular CD`s or tape.
About time they got some new equipment.

You're talking about an 'MP3 audio' CD - I ain't!

WMP will create a standard audio CD with MP3 files - try it. G

Ok I`ll give it a try. Thanks

Thanks Crossbow7 that worked ok.
I`ve tried the tracks on a non MP3 player and it works.
Perhaps I was looking to be to complicated in my working.
I can sent the lady off in style now.
