Burning Data with Nero over home Network

  javaBalls 16:16 20 Oct 2004

I have a home network. All PCs are using Win XP pro.

I would like to burn my mp3 files from one of the networked machines to a CD using nero express 6.0.

However the shared folders do not show up within nero.

I read somewhere that I have to 'map' the drives. But I'm not sure what to do.

I am no expert in this but have you checked the box where the files are stored. The box i mean is "share files and folders with other users"

Like i say i am no expert but i am giving it a wild stab in the dark.

the files are shared across the network.

I think the solution lies within Nero's settings

Have you tried putting the mp3 files into a 'temp' folder and then burn them from there via Nero.

PSF - I have not tried putting them into a temp folder becasue they total 4 GBs.

I would rather copy them directly from the shared folder so that I can copy them from any PC on my home network.

I am under the impression that files cannot be burned over a network. The files must be on the same computer that Nero is installed on. I have tried doing what you are wanting to do several times, and hit a brick wall. A few ppl have mentioned its not possible.

That article did just the trick.

It was easy. Now I can burn files across my network.
