The built in card reader on my pc has stopped

The built in card reader on my pc has stopped working; it no longer recognises my SD cards, please advice.

i have a F & G which are dvd and cd drives, and a removable drive L not sure what that is nothing else is plugged in, neither my sony card or my SD card work.

- switched off power and on again - start pc with card in slot .
then see if showing in explorer/my computer .

have just restarted my pc, still not showing in explorer, pc still does not recognises my SD cards

led on card reader? is it lit?

perhaps you need to heck the connection from the reader to the motherboard is secure.

The can be due to a build up of static. Try this -

Turn the computer off as normal.
Turn off the PSU switch (l/0 switch) on the back of PC if it has one.
Press and hold the front power switch for 30seconds (up to one minute).
Turn the computer on again at back of PC (PSU switch)
Turn PC on via front power switch

The card reader icons should now reappear.

Dipso, the card reader icons are back, it also started up quicker as well!

I had the same problem with my Medion Desktop. They replaced the panel, As it was stopping the Comp booting
