I want to build a PC not sure of spec at the moment. But just a minor question on PSU, theres so many different ones. i.e. 300W, 350W,400W,etc why so many? Is this determined by the m'board.
What do you look for in PSU?

Thanks
Sam

I would get the most powerful one.

It does depend on what your system is running, I use a 300W, with an Athlon 2200, couple of HD's, GF4 Ti4200.

If I had built it myself I would have gone for a 400...

Should run more quietly than most, cost more though!

Remember to go for quality not just wattage. A good quality 300w PSU will serve you better than a cheap 400w. If your PSU goes pop it can take out a lot of componants.

I was once told pick a heavy PSU. I'm not sure how accurate that is and its not useful if you're buying mail order but...
