Building a new PC...

Hi all, I'm about to build a new pc, andwould appreciate any advice you can give on the best motherboard to go for. I'm not spending (or dont intend to!!) a fortune on this, but want one that is relatively up to date and if poss (this is a rumour ive heard!) one with on board sound, but GOOD sound!!!

Im pretty much ok for harddisk and memory etc, but any advice on a graphics card would be great, again, not a gamer butwould like reasonable graphics.

Thanks in advance.

ps. saw this, is this a good deal???? 512mb PC2700 DDR ram plus coolermaster fan for £63.45 plus delivery?????

You may be better off going for a bundle ie motherboard/memory
or if not use Crucial[guaranteed to work with motherboard.
NForce2 boards come with onboard sound and some with video may be worth a look.
Price range would be a help.

most of the boards you can buy now come with 6 channel 5.1 sound
