I was chatting to a colleague about broadband and how we could'nt get it, he then told me that he spoke to BT and they said they were launching a new mid-band service in the spring 03 which would be availible to people who cannot get BB has anyone else heard of this or got any info? is there light at the end of the tunnel for 56k modem users?
You asked : Can you tell me about BT's plans to offer a 'midband' product to non broadband enabled areas?
BT is looking into the development of a new 'midband' product in order to deliver fast Internet access to non-ADSL/broadband enabled areas. It would bring 128k Internet to 97% of the UK population, together with 'always on' email notification. The 128k access would drop back to 64k to allow voice calls to be taken while the customer is online.
A pilot for this product is planned for Spring 2003.
