BT Home hub and wireless network

I need some advice as I am confused with the various network jargon. I have a PC downstairs which is connected to the hub via ethernet. I am trying to establish a wireless connection to another PC upstairs which has an 802.11g PCI card, and can see the hub as an available network.

I've entered the key when asked, and it has connected to the internet once, but now refuses to make the connection. I've tried various stumblings around in the dark, rapidly loosing hair - grateful for any suggestions.

PS - great forum!

Without any effort from me, I now have a connected network. I conclude that I do not understand computers and I am seeking a career as a shepherd.
