BT Home Hub

My brother is having problems with his BT Home hub at the minute.

It keeps dropping the internet connection and also when I phone him there is a terrible crackle on the line as if he's frying bacon.

Could the 2 problems be linked? Anyone else had this problem and can reccomend a solution?

Could be that there are no filters installed between the router and the wall where the router is plugged into the phoneline. That might at least explain the crackling.

Reset BT Home Hub to Factory settings

it will be BT testing the line

as their packaging states that they will test and that the linewould be dead at these times

if not follow others advice
