BT Broadband Modem

Goin by BT's spec they say that the modem supplied by them may not work with win98. after an unsuccessful email to query this can anyone let me know if it will or will not work with win98.

my dads using BT BB with an intel modem on W98SE. works ok for him.

Windows 98, no. Windows 98SE, yes. Other modems may be OK.

yes - I go with that- I'm running bt broadband on windows 98SE but couldnt't say it would operate on win98

ok have been looking at the Netgear DG824M all in 1 modem/access point/firewall/switch as i need to network 1 pc & 1 laptop,it's specs says it's compatible with win98.
Has anyone else got 1 with BT ? or can advise if it will work??

Modems is a compatibilty issue with SIS chipsets on your motherboard. But to get around this a dedicated PCI USB I/o card can fix.
