BSOD Dell Studio XPS 1647

I have a Dell Studio XPS 1647 running win7. Then on shut down out of the blue some 4 weeks ago I had a BSOD on shut down error code 0xFFFFF80039. I have tried to do some research on line what the error could be, the only suggestion is a corrupt driver on my Video card. I updated the driver from the Dell downloads still the same. I hasten to add its not every time but seems to be getting worse. Does anyone out there have an idea where to go next I'm pulling my hair out what's left of it in frustration.
