Browser wont display web pages

I have 2 PCs connected to a netgear ADSL modem router and Belkin switch/gateway - one works perfectly - I can display web pages using IE, access newsgroups and send/receive email, on the other PC however I can access newsgroups and send/receive email but can't browse the web with either IE5 or Firefox 1.5, I get the message "connection has timed out" - However if I enter some addresses like click here (BBC) or (Google) - IT WORKS! I'm tearing my hair out - can anyone help please - both machines are running XP home SP2, the Netgear modem/router is a DG632.

Have you tried copying your favourites from the computer that does display the websites to the one that doesn't. Also installing and running the following program may shed some light on the problem Favorg click here

Problem solved by downloading program winsockxpfix and running it.
