Browser problems-spyware

  aca 07:52 27 Sep 2010

Have 3 pcs running thru wireless network. Using variety of browsers. All are having probs conntecting to internet, and also having the browser redirected to variety of sites. Also having the Antivirus 2010 fake scan appearing.
(although cant see any of the trademark files/installations)

All browsers being painfully slow to start up

Have taken the following action so far but hasn't resolved the problem.

Windows (XP Pro) fully up to date
All running Avira
Have downloaded and run: MalwareBytes/SuperAntiSpyware/A2 and on the laptop worst affected SmitFraud scan.
Also cleaned out with CCleaner

Variety of finds inc DNSchanger trojan.

Now the scans are not showing up anything.

I guess next step to run HijackThis.

Is there anything else that I should be trying

I presume that you are still having problems.
You have tried most things maybe if you have time run the security programs in safe mode and delete anything that they find.
Then run C Cleaner then disable system restore then reboot and remember to enable system restore again after the reboot.
That last click here you posted was 2 years old so I would imagine most of your security programs would be able to deal with it.

You could try Microsoft tool and see if it removes it.
