Broadband router problem.

A friend has set up a wireless broadband router to another PC. The PC that is going wireless will not connect to the internet despite it showing that it's recieving a strong signal from the router, are there any settings that need changing (I think he's run the internet connection wizard) without any success.
Many Thanks.

The signals are probably from the computer itself not necessarily the router.

I take it he has set the computer to the same network group name as the other one and has an individual name for the one which won't connect.

I would suggest for furter info, you post on network forum, you may get more worthwhile suggestions.

All the best.

Has he actually "Connected" to the wireless network? In other words, has he run the wireless adapter's software, scanned for "Available Wireless Networks", found and highlighted the one that matches his router's SSID (network name) and selected the option to "Connect" to it? Once "connected", the little icon will get its "halo" to indicate it is connected to that network and it should then get its correct IP address by DHCP from the router.
