Broadband reception

  bluto1 22:53 25 Mar 2006

jackcoms had a post asking about the best ISP for BB, and as is our wont we contributed to his post.
Having read all of the threads I wonder what effect distance from the telephone exchange is going to have. My exchange is about 3/4 mile away and there`s a Secondary school in between. Surely that, when IT lessons start, is going to affect my BB speed. Any thoughts ?

I think your telephone line goes directly to the exchange and will not be affected by the School.

Don't worry about it. My exchange is about 4 miles away, and I live within 100mtres of a secondary school. Doesn't effect us.

We are on Wanadoo, if that helps.

The school is likely to have dedicated circuits for its connections. These will be seperate from broadband delivered over telephone lines.
