broadband no dial tone

my broadband isp is supanet
my problem is that i have installed the modem software and i get no dial tone from the software all the connections are correct supanet say the line is activated and they have checked with bt
i am running windows xpsp2 i have also reinstalled the software on many occasions and 3 different modems
i am now out of ideas
any help would be gratfull

Hi, is your modem connected to a Filter (at the phone line end)? If you have more than one phone, does each phone have a separate filter.
If the answer to either is - no - then that is why it is not working properly.

all the phone sockets have filters
i understand that broadband has no dial tone but
the software keeps trying to connect and this is the responce once it has failed

Sounds like your modem isn't configured correctly... When you re-installed the modem, did you remember to "reboot" the system before installing it again??
