Broadband for 1 or 2 weeks

  jacksony 18:32 20 Dec 2006

I live outside the UK but I pop back for 1 or 2 weeks each year to see my parents (who use British Telecom).

Is it possible to have a broadband internet contract whenever I want in the year, maybe May or December, for 1 or 2 weeks at a time?

And would I need to buy the special modem that you need?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Very unlikely. The economics just won't add up.

However, if your parents switched to TalkTalk3 International....:-)

Some ISPs will do a one month contract eg Zen internet.

Do they have a computer on broadband?Possibly not.A router and wireless connection could be an answer if they do.

EFH broadband do 8mb, 30gig transfer, by the month contracts for £25. If you dont plan to download much then its a lot less.

To provide and cease a broadband connection would involve 2 wiring changes at the exchange, for which BT will make a hefty charge to the ISP.
