Booting in Safe Mode

  khaki_avenger 22:30 26 May 2004

Can anyone tell me how to boot into Winodws XP Safe Mode without pressing F8.

My friend has a PC in which the F8 key has been replaced by a boot menu that does not give me the option to boot in safe mode..

I have heard there is a way of setting the machine to boot in safe mode when its restarted.

Any help would be most appreciated

at the run box type "msconfig" then navigate to the "boot.ini" tab, then under the "boot options" menu check the first box "/SAFEBOOT" then click OK and reboot
