Booting up "Funny"

Due to My laptop going legs up (under warranty) I had to resurrect my aged PC entailing a reload of XP.
Now immediately after switch on and booting is starting the monitor screen view is shifted 50% to the right so that the right hand of the page is shown on the left and the boot access "DEL" instruction is to the right of centre . Are you still with me?
When Windows is loading the view returns to normal.
Although everything seems OK it would be nice to return to normality!(If there is such a thing with Computers!!)

I think you will find that the only way to corect this is toadjust the settings on your monitor. I assume that this occurs from the POST through to the start-up of WIndows, at which stage the Windows drivers are taking over and correcting any problem. As soon as your start up and get any sort of screen, press your monitor menu button and adjust from there - but you'll have to be quick.
