Boot up very slow to start

  Mc Moan 12:28 04 Feb 2006

When I turn on my computer it takes ages (up to 10 mins)for the magic "beep" after which it boots up as normal.

Running XP

Any ideas?

Power supply failing, memory failing or loose connectors inside the machine are 3 possibilities. Does it crash more often since this started?

Time lag now up to 1 hour. Once booted it doesn't crash.

All the electrics seem to be working (fan, DVD ROM etc).

have tried all connections and cannot find any loose.
