Boot up stalling

I've got an AMD Athlon XP 3200 on a Chaintech Zenith mobo. The PC has worked fine for a year until I carefully moved it to another room, replaced the DVD burner with a newer one and tried to start it up. The boot up stalls on the first screen right after it tests and reads the DDR memory as 'enabled'. It goes no further than that. I can't even get into the BIOS. Anyone have any ideas?

If this has happend only since installing the new optical drive, I would unplug that again first and see if that caused it. If it's still not booting, check all your connections carefully for any that may have come loose/been knocked during the move/install.

Have you set the jumper correctly on your new drive?
